Midstate CLC Endorses Candidates in the City of Ithaca
Committed to Workers’ Rights and Economic Justice
[Ithaca, N.Y., 6/23/2023] – The Midstate Central Labor Council, representing thousands of hardworking
individuals across various industries, is proud to announce its endorsement of a union strong group of
dedicated candidates who have demonstrated a firm commitment to advancing workers’ rights, championing
economic justice, and promoting fair and inclusive policies in the City of Ithaca.
As the premier voice of labor in the region, the Midstate CLC is steadfast in its mission to improve the lives of working people and build a more equitable society. After careful consideration and extensive deliberation, the Midstate CLC has selected the following candidates who align closely with these goals:
Robert G. Cantelmo, Ithaca Mayor
Cynthia Brock, Ward 1, Ithaca City Council
Kris Haines-Sharp, Ward 2, Ithaca City Council
Margaret Fabrizio, Ward 5, Ithaca City Council
These candidates have committed to advocating for fair wages, safe working conditions, access to quality
healthcare, and protecting the rights of workers to organize and bargain collectively in the City of Ithaca. They have demonstrated an understanding of the challenges faced by the labor community and have shown a genuine willingness to work collaboratively to address those challenges.
